About Us

Bob and Greg Laughran grew up on the kind of water that defines Northern Connecticut and Western Massachusetts—small lakes, hidden ponds, and old reservoirs tucked behind neighborhoods and tree lines. Their childhood wasn’t built around schedules. It was built around sunrise bites, evening topwater, and those in-between hours when a pond could go dead quiet and then suddenly come alive.

They learned fast that lakes and ponds are their own world. One kettle pond could be crystal clear, where a bass would trail a bait for ten feet before deciding. The next pond over could be stained and weedy, where you had half a second to get bit before the fish buried you in milfoil. Some spots were shallow bowls that warmed up first in spring—absolute magic for a few weeks. Others were deeper, colder lakes where the bite turned on later, and every fish felt earned.

Over time, they stopped just “fishing” and started studying. They watched how bluegills hovered along weed edges, how perch flickered over hard bottom, how small baitfish dimed the surface at dusk. They noticed how the same lure could look perfect in the package but disappear in clear water, or how a color that crushed on cloudy days suddenly got ignored when the sun got high. The follows… the last-second turn-offs… the fish that nipped the tail but wouldn’t commit—those details stuck with them.

That’s where the tinkering began. On the tailgate, at the kitchen table, in the garage—always trying to build something that matched what they were seeing in their ponds. They trimmed plastics to change the profile. Tweaked tails so they’d kick at slower speeds. Mixed colors until they hit the exact tone of a local baitfish—subtle, natural, the kind of shade you only appreciate when you’ve fished clear lakes where fish get a long look. They weren’t chasing flashy. They were chasing confidence—the kind you get when a bait looks right, moves right, and consistently gets bit.

Bro’s Baits was born from that lifelong pond-and-lake obsession: two brothers who grew up learning every weedline, every rocky point, every shade pocket under overhanging branches. It’s the continuation of those mornings, those after-school sessions, and those summer nights when the only plan was, “One more cast.” Custom colors, small-batch pours, and baits tuned for waters everywhere—100% Made in the USA by two Bros who learned the hard way that on lakes and ponds, details are everything.

About Us

Bro’s Baits started on small New England waters—hidden ponds, clear kettle lakes, and weedy reservoirs where every bite is earned. Bob and Greg Laughran grew up fishing them, then started building baits that match what pressured fish actually want: subtle colors, the right action, and confidence you can feel.

Today we pour small-batch, custom-tuned soft plastics for waters everywhere—
